Die 12 Songs sind beeinflusst vom klassischen Soul, frühem Rhythm & Blues, Folk, Roots Country, Swamp Rock und Honky Tonk Sound. The Deslondes schaffen es dabei die vergessenen Klänge wieder zu beleben und in die Neuzeit zu transportieren.
Als Produzenten konnte man Andrija Tokic (Alabama Shakes, Benjamin Booker) gewinnen, der das Album in seinem Studio in Nashville produzierte.
Die Deslondes pflegen die Tradition so legendärer amerikanischer Songwriter wie Woody Guthrie, Hank Williams und Townes Van Zandt.
