Biografie
Donald Ray Pollock, geboren 1954, wuchs im US-Bundesstaat Ohio auf. Mit siebzehn Jahren brach er die Highschool ab und nahm einen Job in einer Fleischfabrik an. Danach arbeitete er über dreißig Jahre in einer Papiermühle, zumeist als Lastwagenfahrer. Ende der achtziger Jahre holte er in Abendkursen seinen Schulabschluss nach und schrieb sich an der Ohio State University ein. Donald Ray Pollock lebt mit seiner Frau in Chillicothe, Ohio.
