Ein Projekt der Sängerin zusammen mit Bill Rieflin und Chris Wong war Toyah & The Humans. Ihren Stil beschreibt die Gruppe als »European experimental meets West Coast American grunge«. Musical Director Chris Wrong und der im März verstorbene Multi-Instrumentalist Bill Rieflin (u. a. King Crimson, REM, Ministry; Lard, Swans, Nine Inch Nails) nahmen seit 2007 insgesamt vier Alben mit der Sängerin auf: ›We Are Humans‹, ›Sugar Rush‹, ›Strange Tales‹ und das Live-Album ›Live At Scala London‹.
»Sugar Rush« wurde 2011 veröffentlicht und erscheint nun erstmalig als 180 Gr. LP in Translucent Olive Vinyl mit bedruckten Innersleeves.
