Seine erste Single »Come On, Let's Go« wurde im Juli 1958 im Studio B der Gold Star Recording Studios aufgenommen. Phil Spector nahm gerade »To Know Him Is To Love Him« mit den Teddy Bears auf und schaute im Studio B vorbei, um Ritchie Hallo zu sagen. Einige Wochen später wurde Ritchies Debütalbum veröffentlicht und eine Nummer eins in Los Angeles. Die Platte wurde in der September-Ausgabe von Billboard zum »Pick Of The Week« gekürt und erreichte bald Platz 42 der nationalen Charts. Die nächste Single »Donna« landete wenig später auf Platz 2 der Charts.
