Das Debütalbum des Kaliforniers Alexander Brettin aka Mild High Club erscheint auf Circle Star Records, einem neuen Imprint von Peanut Butter Wolfs Stones Throw Label.
Bereits 2012 begann Brettin das Album mit einem Fostex 4-Track Kassettenrekorder, einem Macbook, einer 12-saitigen Gitarre, einem Keyboard, einem Bass und einer Drum Machine, Software Instrumenten und »whatever was lying around« aufzunehmen.
Neben dem puren Pop eines Songwriters wie Todd Rundgren, hatte der Sixties Psych einen klaren Einfluss auf Mild High Clubs Musik. Der Mild High Club war bereits mit Musikern wie Wire, Mac DeMarco, Ariel Pink und Mikal Cronin auf Tour.
