Die elf Songs auf Nadlers achtem Album wurden größtenteils auf Tour geschrieben und mit den Produzenten Justin Raisen (Angel Olsen, Kim Gordon, Charli XCX) sowie Lawrence Rothman aufgenommen. Entstanden ist so ein wunderbar melancholisches Werk, das gewohnt düster und intim daherkommt, manchmal zerbrechlich wirkt, um dann doch eine hypnotisierende Stärke freizusetzen.
Getragen werden die Songs vor allem von Nadlers glasklarer Stimme, die auf dem Album namhafte Gesangsunterstützung von Angel Olsen, Kristin Kontrol (Dum Dum Girls), Sharon Van Etten erhält. Musikalisch wird die Sängerin von Hole- und Juliette and the Licks-Schlagzeugerin Patty Schemel sowie Mary Lattimore an der Harfe, Janel Leppin an den Streichern und Saxophonistin Dana Colley (Morphine) begleitet.
