Der Country und Americana Musiker aus Austin/Texas, Jessed Dayton, veröffentlicht ein neues Studioalbum »The Outsider«. Jesse Dayton veröffentlichte 1995 sein erstes Solo-Album und ist auch für seine Gitarren-Features für die Alben von Country-Größen wie Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings und Willie Nelson bekannt. Jesse Dayton ist seit vier Jahren nonstop in den USA und Europa auf Tour unterwegs.
Sein neues Album »The Outsider« wurde während der Tour in Atlanta, Denver, Nashville und Austin in diversen Studios aufgenommen und vom Grammy-Gewinner Produzenten Vance Powell (der schon mit Sturgill Simpson, Chris Stapleton, Jason Isbell und Jack White zusammen gearbeitet hat) abgemischt.
Über »The Outsider« sagt Dayton: »Es ist sehr ähnlich wie mein Vorgängeralbum ›The Revealer‹, aber noch mehr mit einigen schönen Akustikgitarren-Songs, und auch einigen rohen E-Gitarren-Tracks.« Alle Einflüsse sind da – der von George Jones inspirierte Gesang auf »Changin' My Ways«, der Outlaw Country Vibe von Waylon und Jerry Reed auf »Belly of the Beast«, die Wut und Energie von The Clash und X auf Hillbilly Protestsong »Charlottesville« und der Deep East Texas Blues und Cajun Rockabilly auf »May Have To Do It« und »Hurtin Behind The Pine Curtain«.
