Das zweite Studioalbum von Elvis Costello aus dem Jahr 1978 wurde mit der Rockband „the Attractions" als Begleitung eingespielt. Im Vergleich zum Vorgängerwerk „My Aim is True" sind die Texte noch bissiger und der Punkrock-Einfluss ist noch deutlicher spürbar. Selbst in den folgenden Werken sollte Costello einen derart rockigen Sound nicht mehr erschaffen.
