The SACD uses a higher digital resolution than the audio CD and also offers the possibility to store multi-channel sound (surround sound). To enjoy the music in high-end quality, a special SACD player is required. Thanks to the hybrid function, most of the products marked "SACD" in our store can also be played on conventional CD players. In this case, however, the sound does not differ from that of a normal CD. In case of deviations, we point this out separately (non-hybrid).

Aretha Franklin, Etta James, Carla Thomas… Dusty Springfields fünftes Album hievte die britische Sängerin auf eine Stufe mit den großen Soul-/R&B-Diven der Nachkriegszeit – wenn auch nicht gleich. Das 1969 in den USA veröffentlichte Album floppte zunächst, obwohl es mit »Son Of A Preacher Man« einen UK-Top-Ten-Hit sowie mit »So Much Love«, »Breakfast In Bed«, »Just One Smile«, »I Don't Want To Hear It Anymore« und »Just A Little Lovin'« weitere Hochkaräter im Gepäck führte. Erst Jahre später feierte man »Dusty In Memphis« als eines der großartigsten Alben aller Zeiten, 2001 wurde es die Grammy Hall of Fame aufgenommen.
Springfield wird auf »Dusty In Memphis« von den »Memphis Cats« begleitet, die zuvor mit Aretha Franklin, Wilson Pickett, King Curtis und Elvis Presley zusammengearbeitet hatten. Zu den Musikern zählen Reggie Young (Gitarre), Tommy Cogbill (Bass), Gene Chrismann (Schlagzeug), Bobby Wood (Klavier) und Bobby Emmons (Orgel, E-Piano). Die von u. a. von Randy Newman, Carole King, Gerry Goffin, Barry Mann und Cynthia Weil geschrieben Songs wurden von Jerry Wexler und Arif Mardin (Atlantic) produziert und technisch von Tom Dowd umgesetzt.
Für die hervorragende Klangqualität der Neuauflage von Analogue Productions sorgt Kevin Grays liebevolles Mastering.
