Carter The Unstoppable Sex Machine wurden 1987 von Fruitbat und Jim Bob gegründet und traten mit ihrem charakteristischen Punk-Pop-Stil, der mit Samples, Drumcomputern und sozialen Kommentaren angereichert war, auf den Plan. »Worry Bomb«, das 1995 erschien, war das fünfte Album von Carter USM und das vierte in Folge, das in die Top Ten der britischen Albumcharts einstieg. Es war auch das erste mit ihrem neuen Schlagzeuger Wez, der eine Abkehr vom berühmten Drum-Machine-Sound bedeutete. Das Album bot eine musikalische Abwechslung zwischen sanften akustischen Stücken wie »My Defeatist Attitude« und Carters typischem energiegeladenen Indie-Rock, darunter »Let's Get Tattoos« und »The Young Offenders Mum«, die beide die britischen Top 40 erreichten.
