»Genesis« ist das fünfte Studioalbum von Busta Rhymes. Ursprünglich 2001 veröffentlicht stieg das Album auf Anhieb auf Platz 7 in die Billboard 200 ein, verkaufte sich schlussendlich mehr als eine Million Mal und wurde mit Platin ausgezeichnet.
Auf »Genesis« klingt Busta Rhymes düsterer und orientiert sich mehr am Synthie- Sound, was ein wenig an den basslastigen G-Funk Sound erinnert. Bei »As I Come Back« vibriert lediglich eine Keyboardnote durch den gesamten Refrain, während Busta mit seiner typisch heiseren Stimme dazu rappt.
Als weitere Gäste machen außer P. Diddy, Kelis, Mary J. Blidge und der Flipmode Squad von sich reden. Als Produzenten verdingten sich unter anderem Pete Rock und Dr. Dre.
