Die 10-Jahres-Jubiläumsausgabe dieses Klassikers enthält eine Doppel-LP auf blauem und lilafarbenem Vinyl in einer Gatefold-Hülle mit mattem UV-Lack und Spot-Glanz-Finish, ein 24-seitiges Zine im 7"-Format sowie eine digitale Download-Karte.
Blueprint wurde zunächst in seinem Kirchenchor ausgebildet, spielte in der High School in R&B-Bands und machte sich später einen Namen als herausragender Rapper. Auf Adventures in Counter-Culture experimentiert er mit Synthesizern, Keyboards und Drumcomputern, die in jenen frühen Tagen die musikalischen Knotenpunkte verbanden. Print begann seine Karriere als Musiker im Jahr 2001 und arbeitete an mehreren Hip-Hop-Projekten, darunter sein gemeinsames Projekt Soul Position mit dem DJ/Produzenten RJD2. Nach der Veröffentlichung von The Unlimited EP & 8.000.000 Stories auf Rhymesayers Entertainment mit RJ, begann Blueprint 2004 mit der Arbeit an seinem ersten Soloalbum 1988.
Der Erfolg dieses Albums ermöglichte ihm eine ausgedehnte Tournee durch Nordamerika und Europa, bevor er nach Hause zurückkehrte, um sich auf das Schreiben und Aufnehmen seines nächsten Albums zu konzentrieren. Als er sich an die Arbeit an seinem zweiten Album machte, begann Print mit dem düsteren, gefühlvollen und samplelastigen Hip-Hop der frühen 90er Jahre, stieß aber bald an eine kreative Wand. Was ihn aus der Reserve lockte, war eine neue Mission: ein Album zu kreieren, das alle Facetten der Musik, die er kannte, umfasst, die Genregrenzen verwischt und sie als ein zusammenhängendes Hörerlebnis wieder nach Hause bringt. Je mehr er daran arbeitete, sein neu entdecktes Interesse an Rock und elektronischer Musik mit seiner Liebe zum Hip-Hop zu verbinden, desto mehr konnte er diese kreative Barriere durchbrechen.
So begannen seine »Adventures in Counter-Culture«, ein monumentales Unterfangen, bei dem er sich als Musiker und Mensch neu erfinden sollte. Sein wachsender Zynismus gegenüber der Welt, seine Verachtung für die Popkultur, den Zustand der Politik und eine apathische, uninspirierte Gesellschaft waren der Treibstoff für dieses zweite Album. Bewegt von den Auswirkungen, die Sampling-Prozesse auf die Musik-Community hatten, beschloss Blueprint, zu seinen Wurzeln zurückzukehren und begann, seine eigenen Inhalte zu schreiben und zu produzieren.
