Esoteric Recordings verkünden die Veröffentlichung einer kürzlich remasterten und erweiterten Edition des mit Gold ausgezeichneten Album-Klassikers »Octoberon« von Barclay James Harvest aus dem Jahr 1976. Ursprünglich wurde das Album Ende Oktober 1976 veröffentlicht und war ein Verkaufsschlager der Band, der in Großbritannien Silber und in Deutschland Gold erhielt. Das Album war somit der Durchbruch der Band in dem Raum. Das Album traf mit Tracks wie ›The World Goes On‹, ›Suicide?‹, ›Ra‹ und ›Rock n' Roll Star‹ den Nerv der Fans und ist bis heute sehr beliebt.
Diese Deluxe-Edition enthält zwei CDs und eine DVD mit dem neu remasterten Original-Album- Mix und einem brandneuen Stereo- und 5.1 Surround-Mix des Albums. Die DVD enthält 96 kHz / 24-bit Stereo-Remixe, einen 96 kHz / 24-bit remasterten Mix des Original-Albums und die zwei seltenen Werbefilme ›Rock and Roll Star‹ und ›The World Goes On‹, die bei der BBC TV-Show ›The Old Grey Whistle Test‹ gesendet wurden. Zusätzlich enthält das Set sechs Bonus-Tracks, darunter den zuvor unveröffentlichten alternativen Intro-Mix von ›May Day‹ und alternative Mixe von ›Ra‹, ›Suicide?‹ und anderen Songs.
