Applewood Road sind die Singer-Songwriter Emily Barker, Amber Rubarth und Amy Speace, die sich erstmals im September 2014 in Nashville trafen, wo sie den Song Applewood Road geschrieben und aufgenommen haben.
Sechs Monate später kamen sie wieder zusammen, um zwölf weitere Songs zu schreiben und machten aus dieser aufregenden neuen Zusammenarbeit ein komplettes Albumprojekt, das 2016 bereits von der Kritik gefeiert wurde.
Die dreistimmigen Gesangsharmonien des Trios haben genau das richtige Maß an Kanten und Präzision, während ihre fein gearbeiteten Songs sowohl von ihren persönlichen Erfahrungen erzählen als auch ihre besondere Begabung zum Geschichtenerzählen verdeutlichen.
Jeder Song wurde live auf Stereoband aufgenommen, indem Emily, Amber und Amy zusammen um ein Mikrofon mit nur minimaler Begleitung sangen. Das ganze Konzept geht damit zurück zu den Anfängen der Ton- und Musikaufnahme.
