Es ist eine kleine Sensation: Mit »Windy City« veröffentlicht Alison Krauss 2017 ein neues Soloalbum. Es handelt sich dabei um das erste Solorelease mit neuen Songs nach 18 Jahren.
Dafür wählte die US-amerikanische Sängerin und Violinistin gemeinsam mit Produzent Buddy Cannon insgesamt zehn Songklassiker aus, und drückte ihnen ihren ganz persönlichen Stempel auf.
Mit dabei sind Lieder aus Country, Bluegrass und Pop, darunter zum Beispiel Willie Nelsons »I Never Cared For You«, Glen Campbells »Gentle On My Mind« und Bill Monroes »Poison Love«.
Einen ersten Vorgeschmack auf ihr neues Album gab Krauss bereits mit ihren Interpretationen von Brenda Lees »Loosing You« und dem Titelsong »Windy City«, der im Original von The Osborne Brothers stammt.
