Der bekannte britische Komponist John Lunn ist der Mann hinter der Magie. Seine Musik zaubert die perfekte Atmosphäre für die Geschehnisse und Dramen der aristokratischen Crawley-Familie und deren Bediensteten.
Zusammen mir dem „Chamber Orchester of London“ entstanden eindrucksvolle Aufnahmen, die bereits eine Emmy-Nominierung erhielten.
Neben der ursprünglichen Orchesterfassung der Downton-Titelmelodie, enthält die Essential Collection eine beeindruckende Aufnahme von dem Mädchenchor Scala & Kolacny Brother mit ihrem Cover von "Every Breath You Take" und "With Or Without You". Zusätzlich enthält das Album eine unwiderstehliche Gesangsaufnahmen von Rebecca Ferguson " I’ll Count The Days“.
