Wie Toningenieur Paolo Costola bemerkte: "the lyrics cut you like a knife, but the songs are so beautiful that you bleed and say thank you."
Inge Andersen (1968) studied Educational Psychology in Utrecht and Amsterdam, got her Ph. D. in Social Science and has worked as a researcher and consultant. Throughout her career she has continued writing songs, performing regularly as a back-up singer.
In 2005, she accompanied Eric Andersen on his tour throughout Japan, providing back-up vocals. Many joint performances followed, in venues all over the globe. In 2006, Eric and Inge got married.
In 2008, she was invited by Norwegian Hardanger fiddle player Hallvard Bjørgum to record vocal harmonies for his album “Peace Will Come”. The album was released in March 2009 -- a collection of recordings based on Bjørgum’s musical collaborations (including Rick Danko, Garth Hudson, Jonas Fjeld, Blondie Chaplin).
In 2009, Inge and Kersten de Ligny sang harmony for “The Lone Wolves”, a collaboration of Eric Andersen, Ad Vanderveen and Texan songwriter Richard Dobson. Spanning sixties Greenwich Village folk and today’s Americana, this project gave an overview of the musical development from protest singer to contemporary singer-songwriter.
Inge’s vocals can also be heard on Eric Andersen’s recently released album “Live in Cologne”.
In 2011, she performed as a guest on Eric Andersen’s webcast in Woodstock, New York, along with performers such as John Sebastian, Happy Traum and Joe Flood. Following the webcast, John Sebastian commented on her singing with -- Inge, you were the secret weapon!
About the album Fallen Angel In 2011, Inge recorded her debut album “Fallen Angel" in Italy. For this album, roles were reversed, and Eric Andersen accompanies Inge on guitar and piano. The album is produced by Eric Andersen, together with the Italian violinist, composer and song poet Michele Gazich. Eric, Inge and Michele Gazich had previously collaborated on Eric Andersen’s live album and they still perform together regularly. Besides her own songs, Inge Andersen includes a beautiful version of Eric Andersen’s “Round the Bend“ and a haunting version of “The Prodigal Son”. This last song, performed 60 years earlier by Hank Williams, features Norwegian Hardanger fiddle player Hallvard Bjørgum and Garth Hudson from The Band on keyboard, saxophone and accordeon. The album consists of ten melodic songs with strong lyrics. As sound engineer Paolo Costola remarked, --the lyrics cut you like a knife, but the songs are so beautiful that you bleed and say thank you.
All songs written by Inge Andersen (BUMA) except ‘Round the bend’ (written by Eric Andersen, Wind and Sand Music, Admin by Bug Music) and ‘The prodigal son’ (lyrics by Floyd D. Jenkins, Music by Fred Rose).
Recorded and edited by Paolo Costola at MacWave recording studio in Brescia (Italy)
Mixed and mastered by Reinhard Kobialka at Topaz Audio Studios in Cologne (Germany),
Produced by Michele Gazich and Eric Andersen
