Der Bestsellerautor Neil Gaiman trifft auf die international hoch gelobte Künstlerin Amanda Palmer (Dresden Dolls). Na gut, die beiden sind liiert, die treffen sich öfter mal. Aber das Album "An Evening With" ist dennoch etwas ganz Besonderes.
2011 beschlossen die damals Frischvermählten nämlich, gemeinsam in den USA auf Tour zu gehen und das zu tun, was sie am besten können: zu singen (sie) und zu lesen (er). Um das Ganze der Nachwelt zu erhalten, stießen sie ein Crowdfunding-Projekt an, daraus resultierte u. a. ein Drei-CD-Set. Allerdings gab’s das nur für die 3873 Unterstützer des Projekts.
Doch der Rest der Fanschar kann jetzt aufatmen und auf drei CDs erleben, wie die beiden ihr jeweiliges und am Schluss des Abends gemeinsames Publikum beglücken.
Palmer-Fans freuen sich auf Titel wie "Dear Old House", "Gaga, Palmer, Madonna: A Polemic" und "Judy Blume", Gaiman-Addicts auf viele Gedichte und Geschichten, u. a. von seinem Besuch bei der Oscar-Verleihung. Gemeinsam singen sie Songs wie "Makin’ Whoopee" und "I Google You".
