Als Spielfilm im Jahre 2005 geplant und in Namibia gedreht, verwendet Christoph Schlingensief zunächst Fragmente des Films in mehreren Projekten wie "Area 7", "Stairlift to Heaven" und "Kaprow City". Die Installation "18 Bilder in der Sekunde" wird auf der Berlinale 2008 (Forum Expanded) veröffentlicht und ist Teil der Ausstellungen im Migros Museum in Zürich und im Haus der Kunst in München. 2009 hat der Film "The African Twin Towers" im Prater der Volksbühne in Berlin Premiere, es ist eine Dokumentation der Dreharbeiten mit Spielszenen, von Christoph Schlingensief rückblickend kommentiert.
