»It's Monk's Time« ist wohl der passendste Titel für ein Thelonious-Monk-Album. Die Tatsache, dass er im Februar desselben Jahres (1964) auf dem Cover des Time Magazine war, zeigt, wie wichtig der Jazzkomponist und Pianist war. Mit dem beeindruckenden Jazz-Klassiker »Stuffy Turkey« und der erstaunlichen Interpretation von »Nice Work If You Can Get It«, das ursprünglich von George Gershwin komponiert wurde, ist es auch ein wesentlicher Bestandteil seiner Diskografie. Monk nahm das Album zusammen mit Butch Warren, Ben Riley, Charlie Rouse und Teo Macero auf.

»It's Monk's Time« ist in einer limitierten Auflage von 1500 einzeln nummerierten Exemplaren auf durchscheinendem, rot gefärbtem Vinyl erhältlich.
