With Galliano-Piazzolla, no lamentations. The soppy, the smoothhave nothing to do here. It is a music full of suffering, of happiness and ofanger which has to be played with rage. A music of life and death.

For this adventure started morethan two years ago in Paris (at the Bouffes du Nord Theatre) and which was ahuge success not only at the Montreal Jazz Festival but also at this concert inWillisau (Switzerland), Richard Galliano has gathered classical and confirmed musicians such as Henri Demarquette, Jean-Marc Phillips-Varjabédian or Raphaël Pidoux. They are performing thesemaster pieces not only with a fantastic precision but also with an amazingfervour. Melancholic agonies stretched up to the jam session.

The proof has been made, if itwas necessary to give it : Astor Piazzolla is one of the best musician ofthe century, he is in the same trail as classical maestros such as Gershwin, Bartok, or Stravinski. Those who - by mixing popular and symphonic musics –have reached beyond their time and their frontiers.
