The SACD uses a higher digital resolution than the audio CD and also offers the possibility to store multi-channel sound (surround sound). To enjoy the music in high-end quality, a special SACD player is required. Thanks to the hybrid function, most of the products marked "SACD" in our store can also be played on conventional CD players. In this case, however, the sound does not differ from that of a normal CD. In case of deviations, we point this out separately (non-hybrid).

Sir John Barbirolli & Jean Sibelius: Eine legendäre musikalische Freundschaft
Sir John Barbirollis mitreißende Interpretationen der Werke von Jean Sibelius begeisterten das Publikum auf der ganzen Welt. In einem Brief an Barbirolli bezeichnete Sibelius sich selbst als „hingebungsvoller Bewunderer” des Dirigenten und fügte hinzu, dass er sich immer freue, wenn er wisse, dass seine Kompositionen in Barbirollis „meisterhaften Händen” seien. Diese Sammlung umfasst unter anderem die gesamten Sinfonien – darunter Barbirollis “Spezialität”, die Sinfonie Nr. 2 –, die Bühnenmusik zu Pelléas et Mélisande und das großartige instrumentale Werk Finlandia.
