Ein Kaleidoskop fantastischer Arien unterschiedlichster Affekte und Charaktere
Antonio Maria Bernacchi (1685–1756) war einer der besten Kastraten Anfang des 18. Jahrhunderts. Alle großen Komponisten, wie Georg Friedrich Händel, aber auch viele weniger bekannte Komponisten haben für ihn geschrieben. Der Countertenor Terry Wey hat die schönsten dieser Arien und Duette herausgesucht und mit einem der besten Barock- und Opernensembles Österreichs, dem Bach Consort Wien unter der Leitung des Dirigenten Rubén Dubrovsky, sowie mit Unterstützung des Countertenors Valer Sabadus und Mezzosopranistin Vivica Genaux eingespielt. Neben drei bekannten Händel-Arien ist diese Aufnahme besonders durch sieben Weltersteinspielungen von weniger bekannten Komponisten, wie Pietro Torri (1650–1737), Domenico Sarro (1679–1744), Johann Adolf Hasse (1699–1783) sowie Carlo Francesco Pollarolo (1653–1723) und Leonardo Vinci (1690–1730) interessant.
