The Hollywood Sound ist ein Album des legendären Komponisten John Williams, aufgeführt vom Boston Pops Orchestra und dirigiert von Williams selbst. Dieses Album enthält eine Sammlung einiger der besten Oscar-prämierten Filmmusiken aller Zeiten. Es enthält unter anderem Werke von Erich Wolfgang Korngold, Herbert Stothart, Alan Menken, Miklos Rozsa und John Barry. Es enthält auch einige von Williams eigenen Oscar-prämierten Filmmusiken, darunter "Star Wars", "Der weiße Hai" und "E. T. Der Außerirdische'. Für dieses Album arbeitete Williams mit dem amerikanischen Jazz-Funk- und Soul-Jazz-Saxophonisten und Grammy-Preisträger Grover Washington Jr. zusammen.
