Im Anschluss an ihren hochgelobten Zyklus der neun Sinfonien von Ralph Vaughan-Williams legen Andrew Manze und das RLPO hier dessen spektakuläres Ballett Hiob (1927) vor, das durch die Illustrationen von William Blake zum Buch Hiob inspiriert wurde. Ebenfalls auf dieser CD zu finden ist das Orchesterballett Old King Cole (1923), ein wahrer Farbenrausch des Orchesters mit wunderschönen Passagen für die Solovioline. The Running Set (1933), das auf traditionellen Tanzmelodien basiert, vervollständigt dieses Programm mit Tanz-Werken des bedeutenden englischen Spätromantikers.
