Das Album enthält zehn Werke von Mikalojus Konstantinas Ciurlionis, arrangiert für Cello und Klavier. Die Bearbeitungen eröffnen einen neuen Zugang zu Ciurlionis’ Klavierwerken als Kammermusik, wobei seine bildhaft angereicherte musikalische Vision erhalten bleibt.
Neben den Stücken von Ciurlionis enthält das Album drei zeitgenössische Werke, die speziell für dieses Projekt von der litauischen Komponistin Zibuokle Martinaityte, dem lettischen Komponisten Arturs Maskats und dem estnischen Komponisten Mihkel Kerem komponiert wurden. Jeder von ihnen ließ sich persönlich von Ciurlionis inspirieren und schrieb nicht nur eine neue Komposition für Cello und Klavier, sondern widmete seine kreativen Bemühungen auch dem Jubiläum von Ciurlionis und diesem Duo von Interpreten, wodurch dieses Album nicht nur eine Retrospektive, sondern auch ein lebendiger, kreativer Dialog zwischen Epochen, Kulturen und Persönlichkeiten ist.
