Nino Gvetadze: „Manche Musik begleitet einen ein Leben lang – nicht nur in der Erinnerung, sondern auch in den Händen, den Ohren und der Art, wie man die Welt wahrnimmt. Für mich begann diese musikalische Reise in Tiflis, Georgien, wo ich geboren und aufgewachsen bin und wo diese Klänge zum ersten Mal Wurzeln schlugen. Die Reise dieses Albums beginnt mit der Musik von Nodar Gabunia, einem Komponisten, Mentor und Lehrer, der meine frühe musikalische Stimme geprägt hat. Seine musikalische Sprache ist zutiefst persönlich und doch unverkennbar seine eigene – sie ist voller Klarheit, Wärme, Weisheit, Witz und Schönheit. Die zweite Hälfte des Albums gleitet sanft in die Klangwelt von Giya Kancheli über, einem engen Freund Gabunias. Kancheli ist international bekannt für seine symphonischen Werke, doch in seiner Heimat ist seine Musik für Theater und Film fest im Alltag verankert. Seine Melodien schweben durch die Luft: subtil, poetisch, melancholisch und voller unausgesprochener Emotionen. Die Aufnahme dieses Albums fühlte sich weniger wie eine Aufführung und mehr wie eine Erinnerung an. Die Musik floss ganz natürlich, als würde etwas, das lange Zeit in mir schlummerte, endlich seine Stimme finden. Es war, als würde ich ein Tagebuch in Klängen schreiben – voller Zuneigung, Dankbarkeit und stiller Ehrfurcht.
