Die Gebrüder Pla, Sprösslinge einer katalanischen Musikerfamilie waren exzellente Oboisten, spielten jedoch auch noch andere Instrumente und komponierten. Josep und Joan Baptista waren vor allem außerhalb Spaniens tätig, da sich Kammermusik in ihrer Heimat nur geringer Beliebtheit erfreute. Für diese Einspielung wurden die Oboentrios der beiden Brüder miteinander vereint.
