Erstes englisches romantisches Werk bei Sterling. Cliffe, der nur wenige Werke schrieb, war ein stark von Bruckner inspirierter Komponist mit der gleichen Vorliebe für wunderschön gestaltete Themen. Der dritte Satz ist wahrhaft himmlisch. »Cloud and Sunshine« ist ebenfalls ein sehr interessantes Werk – der Anfang klingt tatsächlich, als könnte man ihn von einer Orgel spielen!
