Es ist nur wenig bekannt, dass Moreno Torroba neben seinen Werken für Gitarre solo auch nicht weniger als 15 Werke für Gitarre und Orchester komponierte. Drei von ihnen („Concierto de Castilla“, „Romancillos“ und „Sonatina“) sind hier in seiner eigenen Reduktion für Gitarre und Klavier zu hören. Es schließen sich zwei Originalkompositionen für diese seltene Besetzung an: Moreno Torrobas „Fantasie“ und Castelnuovo-Tedescos gleichnamiges Werk, op. 145.
