Die schwedische Band Xorsist aus Stockholm, die aus der heiligen Stadt stammt, in der bereits klassische Death Metal-Acts wie Entombed, Dismember und Unleashed geboren wurden, bereitet sich darauf vor, ihr zweites Album »At the Somber Steps of Serenity« über Prosthetic Records zu veröffentlichen.
Nach ihrem selbstveröffentlichten Debütalbum »Deadly Possession« im Jahr 2022 erregten Xorsist die Aufmerksamkeit des Metal-Labels in Los Angeles mit ihrem Old-School-Ansatz und ihrer Affinität zu Schwedens Death-Metal-Erbe und -Geschichte. Gegründet von Gustav Ryderfelt (Gesang und Gitarre), bevor sie ihr Line-Up mit Birk Castenmalm (Gesang und Bass) und Alphonse Bouquelon (Schlagzeug) festigten, ist der Kernsound von Xorsist sowohl in tiefer Ehrfurcht vor den Wurzeln des Genres verwurzelt als auch eine temperamentvolle Weiterentwicklung des rohen und kompromisslosen Stockholmer Sounds.
