Zwei Jahre nach ihrem mehrfach zum Album des Jahres gekürten Debüt für das Label Epitaph („On The Impossible Past“, 2012) veröffentlicht die Punkrockband The Menzingers ihren vierten Longplayer.
„Rented World“ entstand in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Erstmals an den Reglern: der Produzent Jonathan Low, dessen unverwechselbarer Americana-Sound schon die Werke von The War On Drugs, Sharon Van Etten, Kurt Vile und The National bereicherte.
In der Vergangenheit haben The Menzingers bereits mit Bands wie Against Me! und Anti-Flag gespielt. Label-Boss und Bad-Religion-Gitarrist Brett Gurewitz über die 2006 gegründete Band: „Die Jungs spielen genau den reinen Punkrock, mit dem ich aufwuchs.“
