Im August 2019 meldet sich Sheryl Crow mit einem neuen Album zurück, ihrem mittlerweile elften Longplayer. Und sie ist nicht alleine: Für »Threads« holte sich die Pop- und Rockikone gleich ein ganze Mannschaft hochkarätiger Kollegen ins Studio.Insgesamt warten auf der Platte 17 Songs, darunter neben vielen eigenen Kompositionen auch ein paar besondere Coversongs, zum Beispiel von Bob Dylans »Everything Is Broken«, George Harrisons »Beware Of Darkness« oder »The Worst« von den Rolling Stones.
Unterstützt wird Crow auf »Threads« von keinen Geringeren als Mavis Staples, Bonnie Raitt, Joe Walsh, Jason Isbell, Stevie Nicks, Eric Clapton, Sting und Brandi Carlile, Chris Stapleton, Gary Clark Jr., Kris Kristofferson, Willie Nelson, James Taylor, Emmylou Harris, Lucius, St. Vincent und vielen mehr. Mit den Singles »Redemption Day«, »Live Wire«, »Prove You Wrong«, »Still The Good Old Days« und »Everything Is Broken« gab es bereits ein paar Hörproben von »Threads«.
