Ende 1964 bereitete ABC-Paramount die Veröffentlichung von „Ray Charles Sings For You“ vor. Das Album erhielt die Katalognummer ABC-500, die Liner Notes und das Artwork waren fertiggestellt. Die Veröffentlichung wurde jedoch zugunsten von „Ray Charles Live in Concert“ im Januar 1965 zurückgestellt. Infolgedessen blieb „Ray Charles Sings For You“ unveröffentlicht, und seine Titel wurden im Laufe der Jahre auf verschiedene Compilations verteilt.
Jetzt wird dieses verlorene Album zum ersten Mal offiziell restauriert und so veröffentlicht, wie es der Künstler ursprünglich beabsichtigt hatte. Mit Titeln wie „My Baby Don't Dig Me“, „Without Love (There Is Nothing)“ und „Worried Life Blues (Someday Baby)“.
