»If Not for You« ist das Debütalbum der 23-jährigen Olivia Newton-John. Ursprünglich im November 1971 veröffentlicht, enthält es Hits der 60er und 70er Jahre, darunter »Me and Bobby McGee« (Kris Kristofferson) und natürlich den Titelsong, der durch Bob Dylan bekannt wurde.
AllMusic bewertete das Album positiv und gab ihm vier von fünf Sterne: »Es wäre ein Fehler wäre zu denken, dass diese [Songs] alle bloße ›Covers‹ sind. Die Produktion und die Arrangements von Bruce Welch und John Farrar sind innovativ und lohnenswert.«
