Judy Collins ist eine der wirklich legendären Figuren der Folk- und Akustikmusik
Ausgebildet als klassische Pianistin, wurde sie jedoch vom Folk der 50er Jahre fasziniert und engagierte sich in den frühen 60er Jahren in der Folkszene von Greenwich Village zusammen mit Baez und Dylan.
Sie wurde von Jac Holzman von Elektra unter Vertrag genommen, und diese Sammlung umfasst den kompletten Inhalt ihrer ersten beiden Alben »A Maid Of Constant Sorrow« und »Golden Apples Of The Sun«.
Das Repertoire mischt ihre Interpretationen traditioneller Lieder mit ihren eigenen Kompositionen.
Es handelt sich um wichtige Aufnahmen, die den Beginn einer langen und glanzvollen Karriere markieren.
