Product Information
Combining symphonic elements with genres such as folk metal, melodic death, tech deaths, and black metal, have allowed Foretoken to create something familiar yet unique.
The band Foretoken is: Steve Redmond (guitars and orchestral compositions) and Dan Cooley (lyrics and vocals). Hannes Grossmann performs session work on drums. Hannes is best known for playing in bands such as Hate Eternal, Obscura, and Necrophagist.
Formed in Virginia, USA, in 2018, Foretoken began as the side-project of guitarist Steve Redmond who desired to create more climactic and genre expansive songs. Steve later contacted fellow Cyaegha bandmate Dan Cooley to perform vocal/lyrical duties. The band's name »Foretoken« represents the eventuality of the album title and how that affects the songs' characters.
Foretoken's debut album »Ruin« focuses on the misfortune of some of the better and lesser known characters of the world's mythology. The album features James Malone (Arsis) in a dueling guitar solo on the track »A Deathless Prison«, and was mixed by both Steve Redmond and Jacob Hansen; with mastering being done by Jacob Hansen at Hansen Studios. Jacob Hansen is a renowned Producer/Engineer who has worked on albums such as The Black Dahlia Murder's Nightbringers and Fleshgod Apocalypse's Veleno. The album's art is a piece by Tomas Honz entitled »Fallen Empires«. The art gives listeners a glimpse of the calamity at the end of the song »Hamartia«.
