DÖXA wurden im Frühling 2007 in Madrid von Bandleader Victor Fernández (ehemals Darksun) gegründet und veröffentlichten ihr erstes Album im Jahr 2010.
2013 erschien das Nachfolgealbum und jetzt, 4 Jahre später, steht das 3. Album »Lust for Wonder« in den Startlöchern.
DÖXA's Musik wird hauptsächlich von Symphonic und traditionellem Metal beeinflusst, enthält aber auch Elemente anderer musikalischer Richtungen wie Folk, New Age oder Klassik. Als Einflüsse können Künstler wie Dio, Blind Guardian, Epica oder Skyclad genannt werden, wodurch jeden Fan von Melodic / Symphonic Metal eine im doppelten Sinne »fantastische« Reise erwartet.
Auf dem neuen Album sind auch Gastauftritte von David Readman (Pink Cream 69) und Ani M. Fojaco (Last Days of Eden) zu hören.
