Vor einem Jahr stieß die amerikanische Sängerin Claude Fontaine im Honest Jons Plattenladen auf die alten Studio One, Trojan und Treasure Isle-Reggae- und Rocksteady- und Dub-Schallplatten sowie Bossa Nova, Tropicalia und Musica Popular Brasileira.
Weil sie diese Platten so sehr liebte, entschied sie sich, ihre Version der Musik im Stil Jane Birkins, Claudine Longet oder Astrudi Gilbertos in Chet Bakers legendärem alten Studio in Hollywood mit dem Gitarristen Tony Chin (King Tubby, Lee Perry, Jackie Mittoo, Max Romeo, Sly & Robbie), Bassisten Ronnie ›Stepper‹ McQueen von Steel Pulse und Ziggy Marley-Schlagzeuger Rock Deadrick sowie dem brasilianischen Schlagzeuger Airto Moreira (Miles Davis, Astrud Gilberto, Chick Corea und mehr), Now Again Records-Gitarrist Fabiano Do Nascimento, Sergio Mendes Perkussionist Gibi Dos Santos und Flora Purim Bassist Andre De Santanna einzuspielen.
