Mit »Hiss Spun« präsentiert Chelsea Wolfe 2017 ihr neues, mittlerweile fünftes Studioalbum, den Nachfolger von »Abyss« aus dem Jahr 2015.

Zwölf neue Songs hat die amerikanische Singer-Songwriterin dafür geschrieben und aufgenommen, und zwar in Salem, Massachusetts, im Studio von Converge-Gitarrist Kurt Ballou, der das Album auch produzierte.

Neben Wolfe sind auf »Hiss Spun« außerdem wieder Troy Van Leeuwen, der Gitarrist von Queens Of The Stone Age, sowie Aaron Turner (Isis, Old Man Gloom, Lotus Eaters) als Gastsänger zu hören.

Mit den Songs »16 Psyche«, »Vex« und »Offering« gab die Sängerin bereits mehrer Vorabeindrücke ihres neuen Albums.

Alle drei machen deutlich, dass Chelsea Wolfe mit »Hiss Spun« ein weiterer Rockdiamant gelungen ist: roh, düster, atmosphärisch und voller verzerrter Gitarrensounds.
