Big Countrys "Without The Aid Of A Safety Net" war ihr allererstes Live-Album, das ursprünglich 1994 erschien und bei einem Homecoming-Gig im Barrowland Ballroom in Glasgow aufgenommen wurde.
Das Set mischt Tracks aus ihrem letzten Studioalbum The Buffalo Skinners, wie die Singles Alone und Ships, zusammen mit den klassischen Tracks aus ihrem Katalog In A Big Country, Look Away, Fields Of Fire sowie zwei Neil Young-Cover, Rockin' In The Free World und Hey, Hey, My My (Out Of The Blue).
Die ursprüngliche Vinyl-Version dieses Albums hatte nur eine limitierte Pressung auf Einfach-Vinyl. Diese neue Deluxe-Version enthält den kompletten, unbearbeiteten Konzertmitschnitt, aufgeteilt auf drei LPs für optimale Klangqualität.
Die LP kommt in einem Triple-Gatefold mit 180g Heavyweight Black Vinyl mit Sleeve Notes, geschrieben von Gitarrist Bruce Watson.
