Die Musik ist Der Mix aus Pop, Chanson und Jazz! Vom ersten Ton ist man bei dieser leicht heiseren Stimme hin und weg! lsabelle Geffroy, wie Zaz korrekt heißt, beeindruckt mit ihrer Band durch Melodien, mitreißenden Rhythmen, schlichten, jedoch genialen Arrangements. Da klingt mal Ella Fitzgerald durch, dann die große Piaf, plötzlich Francis Cabrel oder Serge Lama. Das ist ein spannender Ritt durch viele Musiklager, allerdings kein Kuddelmuddel, sondern alles ist fein durchdacht.
Mit ihren zum Großteil Eigenkompositionen ist sie in Frankreich DIE Entdeckung des Jahres und wird mit Sicherheit auch bei uns punkten.
