Persuader wurden 1997 in Umea (Schweden) gegründet. 1998 nahm die Band ihr erstes Demo "Visions And Dreams" auf, was einige gute Kritiken von diversen Magazinen und Webzines bekam.
Mit dem folgenden Debut-Album "The Hunter" aus dem Jahr 2000, gewannen sie einige "Best Newcomer Awards". Leider fand dieses Album nicht die verdiente Beachtung, da ihr damaliges Label Loud N' Proud Records bankrott ging und somit die CD nicht in den Läden erhältlich war. Durch eine glückliche Wendung erfuhren sie von dem "Young Metal Gods" Wettbewerb von Noise Int., welchen sie in Bochum gewannen. Das führte wiederum zu ihrem Album "Evolution Purgatory".
Das Songwriting-Duo Emil Norberg und Efraim Juntunen mischten die verschiedensten Stile, um ihren einzigartigen Persuader-Sound zu kreieren. Diese Flexibilität machte ihr 2006er Album "When Eden Burns" zweifelsfrei zu der besten Arbeit, die die Band zu diesem Zeitpunkt abgeliefert hat.
Das vierte Persuader Album "The Fiction Maze", mit dem die Band Songwriting, Performance und Sound perfektioniert hat, ist ein weiterer Schritt nach vorne. "The Fiction Maze" ist der Beweis, dass Persuader immer noch eine der heißesten Schwedischen Bands sind. "The Fiction Maze" wird ein Meilenstein der Power-Metal Szene sein.
Persuader was formed 1997 in Umeå, Sweden. During 1998 the band recorded the demo "Visions and Dreams" which got some really good reviews from different magazines and webzines. In 2000 the debut album "The Hunter" was released and it received great response from around the world, including many "Best Newcomer" awards. Right before the release though, the bands label Loud ïNïProud Records went bankrupt, and the album was only available in France properly, despite the great response from metal media around the world. A three song promo and a couple of gigs went by when in a twist of fate Jens read about the Young Metal Gods competition sponsored by Noise Int. Persuader quickly fired away their latest promo cd, and bang! They were voted number one in Europe and won the finals in Bochum / Germany in May which resulted in the album "Evolution Purgatory" which, as the debut album was received really well around the world. In the wake of 2004 release "Evolution Purgatory" and after a handful live appearances at festivals and concerts, Persuader found themselves going through some changes. They switched the label to newly formed Dockyard 1 and added a second guitarist, so Jens could fully concentrate on his role as a front man. They found a new wingman in the bands longtime friend Daniel Sundbom, who fit the band like a glove given his awesome thrashing skills. Besides that Jens and Emil were asked to join, together with Piet Sielck, Thomen Stauchïs new band Savage Circus which resulted in a short hiatus from songwriting for the new Persuader album. However, fueled by great reviews both from fans and media the songwriting for the new Persuader album was a quick affair. Songwriting duo Emil Norberg and Efraim Juntunen found themselves mixing all kinds of styles varying from black metal riffing to sweet piano interludes, Kreator-ish guitars and modern sounding choruses into the unique Persuader sound the band has always strived for. This resulted in the album "When Eden Burns", released in 2006, and was without any doubt the best work the band had done so far. The reception and response from fans and metal media around the world would prove this. After some shows here and there at festivals and what not, the band took some kind of a break. Jens and Emil recorded a new Savage Circus album and Efraim and Daniel a new Guilliotine album. The fourth Persuader album entitled "The Fiction Maze" is another step forward for the band as they constantly continue to develop their sound, song-writing skills and performance. "The Fiction Maze" is the proof that Persuader is still one of the most exciting Swedish bands, and also one of the best power metal bands there is. The performance, song-writing and production is outstanding and with vocalist Jens Carlsson they truly stand out in the scene and "The Fiction Maze" will for sure be a big hit and a classic in the scene.
