"Jamaica Selects Jump Blues Strictly For You" ist der Nachfolger zur erstklassigen "Jumpin The Shuffle Blues"-Compilation auf Fantastic Voyage. Die drei CDs enthalten eine vortreffliche Sammlung an amerikanischen Rhythm & Blues Songs aus den 40er und 50er Jahren, den die jamaikanischen Soundsysteme von Pionieren wie Clement "Coxsone" Dodd oder Prince Buster auf Parties spielten. Der dort gefeierte Sound ist auch als "Shuffle Blues" in der Szene bekannt und entwickelte sich unter Einfluss des Calypso und anderer karibischer Musikarten zu Ska, dem Vorläufer des Reggae und Rocksteady. Viele Klassiker wurden von jamaikanischen Künstlern später gecovert, und somit ist dies eine Sammlung für Fans von Reggae und R&B gleichermaßen.
