Die Malerin Kelly ist vom Trubel der Kunstwelt erschöpft. Sie fährt an Weihnachten nach Grand Valley zu ihrem Vater. Der verwitwete Leo reist mit seinen Kindern ebenfalls nach in den malerischen Ort. Er soll die örtliche Urlaubslodge begutachten. Angesichts des maroden Zustands scheint eine Schließung unausweichlich. Für Kelly wäre das ein Albtraum. Ihre Familie betreibt die Lodge. Die Künstlerin setzt alles daran, den ungebetenen Besucher zu vergraulen. Doch Leo hat das Herz am rechten Fleck. Er versteht Kellys Sorgen und sucht nach einer Lösung des Dilemmas. Dabei verliert er sein Herz an Kelly und das wundervolle Gran Valley.
