Jesse lebt mit seiner Familie in Oxnard, am nördlichen Ende des San Fernando Valley, 100 Kilometer von Los Angeles entfernt. Eines Morgens entdeckt er Bisswunden an seinem Arm, die er sich nicht erklären kann. Fortan geschieht Merkwürdiges: Als Gangmitglieder Jesse angreifen, schleudert dieser sie durch die Luft.
