Normalerweise sucht der abgehalfterte Privatschnüffler Jack "Lucky" Chandler vermisste Personen - manchmal ist sogar eine Leiche darunter. Seit einiger Zeit werden sie ihm jedoch in handlichen Einzelteilen serviert. Das ist so gar nicht nach Jacks Geschmack, dessen Lieblingsgetränk Bourbon verdünnt mit Bourbon ist. Aber einen harten Privatdetektiv aus Los Angeles lässt so etwas natürlich völlig kalt. Und überhaupt ist er eigentlich auf der Suche nach der Teenagerin Samantha und nicht nach Verrückten, die ihre Opfer mit laufenden Motorsägen kitzeln. Doch plötzlich steht auch Jack einer ratternden Motorsäge gegenüber... und das ist gar nicht mehr zum Lachen. Mit Motorsägen spaßt man nicht!
