Eine völlig neue Version der ersten beiden "Hai-Filme" präsentiert nicht nur neue Handlung und technische Supertricks, sondern auch eine nie erlebte Dimension: Viele Szenen sind aus der Perspektive des Haies gedreht. Der Zuschauer wird abwechselnd Jäger und Gejagter. Mit bombastischem Aufwand wurde für diesen Film ein riesiges, durch einen Glastunnel begehbares Aquarium geschaffen: Das Königreich der Tiefsee.
