Das Album »Coral Keys« von Pianist Walter Bishop war das zweite Album, welches von Black Jazz veröffentlicht wurde. Bishop arbeitete bereits mit Legenden wie dem Bassisten Jimmy Garrison (John Coltrane) und Schlagzeuger Jimmy Cobb (Miles Davis) zusammen. Mit Woody Shaw an der Trompete, Reggie Jackson am Bass, Idris Muhammed am Schlagzeug und Harold Vick an der Flöte, Tenor und Sopransaxofon, stellte Bishop mit diesem Line-Up eine beeindruckende Besetzung zusammen.
Alle Songs wurden von Bishop komponiert, das Highlight ist »Soul Turn Around«, das später auf Freddie Hubbard's 1969 LP »A Soul Experiment« auftauchte. Man denke an Herbie Hancock's »Blue Note Sixties« Aufnahmen, aufpoliert mit einem Schimmer Soul Jazz.
