Peter Lehel ist zwar zu 100% Saxofonist, aber die Begeisterung für Streicher packte ihn, als er das Album Charlie Parker with Strings hörte. Mit Coltrane String Ballads möchte er nun seine persönliche Klangfarbe und Melodiegestaltung in der Besetzung Saxofon mit Streichquartett präsentieren. Hierzu hat er einige Songs Coltranes ausgewählt und einen Part für Streichquartett "hinzukomponiert".
